I respect how hard it is to make a good game, but this is just downright terrible as it is now. Every aspect of the game just blends together, and is virtually impossible to distinguish between runs and even individual rooms. not to mention the ripped assets from a game "inspired" by tBoI, the downright jarring screen effect every single time you shoot, no items, (seemingly) no different rooms except the boss, the physical inability to progress past the first floor... i would be more lenient with my judgement if it were at least free to play, but charging people to play what's *barely* a proof of concept is just scummy.
That said, I like some of the deviations from regular Isaac, which I hope to see more of, such as being chased by troll bombs and needing to shoot them to blow them up away from you. maybe with some more content, there could be a reason to bring them into another room and use them to save a bomb.
if you are planning to update this at any point, maybe roguelike/roguelite mechanics? As far as i can tell this doesn't have any. Also maybe tune monstro down a bit.
And maybe replace the health, boss health, and bomb sprites with your own versions so they at least aren't directly ripped from the game.
Don't get me wrong, cool project, i think it's mostly faithful to the original game, but imo with this you should either try to diverge from the original, or re-create it as closely as possible (but then you'd have to make it free so it's not seen as scummy, i guess)
Hmmm... All game content is created by me and nothing except the general concept from the original game is used, so I think that I can make this game for a symbolic price
the game is awesome i love it, please continue the development by adding more floors, completion marks, various bosses and other characters. practically over time remake isaac fully playable in first person. you can also add in-game achievements. I see a lot of potential in this game I hope to see these changes
I used to play Binding Of Isaac ALOT in my free time and i gotta say- great job with the attention to detail and 1-1 conversions. This has great potential and i hope i can return one day when there's more to it (if you plan on expanding)
I can't for the life of me finish this stupid gaaaame!!!...forget that I said stupid. It is actually wonderful. The style is perfect (reminds me of the official trailer for one of the expansions back then). The gameplay is awesome but that Monstro fight duuuuude!!! There is nothing you can do! But for a 2 week project this is phenomenal! I love it! Create more stuff Carmy! Can't wait for more stuff!
Can be a little janky to play but is overall a very fun recreation of TBOI! Definitely follows Edmund's game design by having troll bombs that will always hit you haha. Unless it was just a skill issue.
